RT274 - The Bear Year

·52 min·4 clips
Okay, I'm going to William Shatner this as I usually do
Wall Street opens in costume. Sean comes in with a bear-themed riff, part William Shatner, part childhood-record memory, and the room wastes no time calling it terrible. That sets the pace. The episode is loose, self-mocking, and willing to let a bad intro stay in the room. The bear theme mostly lives in the cold open and the title, but even when the clip wanders through jokes and old-song references, it keeps finding its way back to Wall Street noise and the crowd around it. Then the banter turns into media skepticism. Public figures come up because Sean and Phil are talking about how people pick champions, enemies, and easy targets. The point is not celebrity gossip. Divisive figures are noise unless the numbers behind them change the trade. Blame is cheap. News chatter loves to sound early, especially before the data has caught up. They keep pulling the conversation back to evidence. Earnings reports, user growth, user decline, and visible engagement matter more than whether a loud personality is liked. Twitter is the working example. The company is private now, so published numbers need caution. Still, attention has business value. If people are watching Elon Musk's account and waiting for the next comment, that matters. No one gets crowned forever. Trump, Steve Jobs, and other attention magnets are examples of the same pedestal cycle, not trades on their own. Chinese stocks show up late as the chart-led closer: they have been leading and are back in vogue. Let the jokes run and the headlines shout. The trading process still has to stay pinned to data, not personality drama.
