Shiboyugi opens with a clock sound every two seconds that lulls you when you really shouldn't be at ease.

1. Rant Café Anime Podcast opens its 2026 seasonal coverage with quick takes on first episodes, running about 29 minutes. 2. Briggs of All Day Anime, Anime Recon (introduced as "the king of seasonal anime") and Jordan split the viewing, with Briggs joking that he is hungover after seeing Gordon Ramsay the night before. 3. The central question is which of the new and returning shows are worth a subscriber's time, taken roughly in order of popularity before the hosts move to personal picks. 4. On Jujutsu Kaisen, the hosts say the new season picks up where Season 2 left off, with the hosts urging Recon to watch the prequel film JJK Zero to know who Yuta is and praising the action and animation. 5. For Frieren Season 2 they note it follows the first season's "slow fantasy journey" formula and focuses on Stark, while Hell's Paradise Season 2 gets a lukewarm "pretty good" with a lot of action but little change. 6. Sentenced to Be a Hero and Oshi no Ko Season 3 draw praise: Recon calls Sentenced "such a surprise anime of the season," while Oshi no Ko's time skip and a possible anime-original ending supervised by the author come up. 7. Fate Strange Fake gets the strongest endorsement, with Briggs naming it the best of the season, praising characters who give "OG Gilgamesh rider vibes" and pushing Recon, who watched only the prequel special, to watch two episodes. 8. Jordan says Shiboyugi, Recon's pick, has one of the season's best premieres because of its slow pacing, ticking-clock sound design and watercolor shots, and also ranks Journal with Witch near the top for production value. 9. Briggs dismisses the Heroes Party romance show as "boring, generic garbage," while Jordan defends its mother-in-law test scene, and Briggs also rejects watching MHA Vigilantes Season 1. 10. Suited to seasonal anime fans choosing what to watch next.
