Radio Rental · Tenderfoot TV & Audacy

Episode 71

·43 min·4 clips
Two masked men burst into her bathroom as she stands naked, threatening to shoot her if she moves.
The fear does not end neatly. After the encounter, the guest keeps calling the Allen Police Department, hoping someone has found the men she saw. She checks arrest records, then shows up at the local police department looking for eyes that might match the ones stuck in her head. That detail lands. The whole memory has tightened around a stare, the tiny thing panic keeps putting back on the screen. Every so often, someone looks close. Close does not help when there is no arrest, no proof, and no answer. The police find nothing. The men are never caught, and the case closes without giving her anything that feels like closure. She knows what people may ask: why she did not grab her kids, why she made one choice and not another. Her answer is blunt. Whatever she did, it worked, because she and her children are still here and safe. Then Terry comes barging back in, unable to get over the fact that she did all of this naked. The turn is ridiculous. He spins survival panic into a body-conscious riff about shirts, pants, pull-ups, and Malachi's appearance. That whiplash is very Radio Rental. The witness account stays unresolved, then the video-store mask slides back on with one last dry, strange joke.

As heard by us

A playful frame around a careful true-story scare.

Radio Rental runs on two things at once: Terry Carnation's oddball video-store persona and a first-person account that keeps circling one frightening night without softening it.
