1 - O Caso Leandro Bossi [S06E01]

October 31, 2023·1 hr 2 min·5 clips
A journalist investigates the unsolved murder of a boy named Evandro and discovers a similar, forgotten case of Leandro Bossi.
The warning comes first. The host names the violence around the case, the many people involved, and the need for care before going back to his own research in 2017. The question is Leandro Bossi. While working on Evandro's death in Guaratuba, after a boy was killed 25 years earlier in April 1992, the host keeps seeing Leandro's name in records that do not quite line up. The connection is messy. What follows is not a big reveal. It is a slow return to the spot where a group of boys once went looking for lizards. They were children. A dog ran into the woods, the boys followed, and what looked like a buried ball turned out to be a skull. They ran, then went back to playing. Days later, one boy told an adult, who told another adult, until someone finally returned on March 4, 1993. That adult was Neucad Miranda. The host meets him at his bar in Guaratuba, records his account, and shows why this memory carries so much of the episode. There is not much local detail. Neucad can describe where Leandro's bone was found, and the host notes that Neucad had not repeated the story often over the years. That restraint matters. In the interview, Neucad remembers being 21, working at home with his brother-in-law, and hearing from a neighborhood boy about what had been found. The tape stays with him. He says no one contacted him afterward, not even after the DNA test, and that he learned more only when the host came asking. The episode sits with that gap. It treats the skull less as a shock ending than as the start of a hard investigative problem: memory, thin local information, and the strange route by which a child's remains entered the record.

As heard by us

A careful, grim opening that ties Leandro Bossi's case to Guaratuba, local memory, and one unsettling discovery in the woods.

Projeto Humanos opens Leandro Bossi's case through the shadow of another killing: Evandro, the boy murdered in Guaratuba two months later in 1992. The episode does not pretend the Leandro story is clean or easy to map.
