The format is already wobbling. Before the preview gets moving, the cold open presents it as delayed, half apologetic, and missing James. Then the table talk starts. James plants Bournemouth in tenth like a casino chip, less a clean prediction than a marker he wants down in case it lands. He calls it risky, which helps. The fun is how hard he dresses up the gamble, pulling in transport jokes, Spanish league buzz, and the Justin Kluivert family line. Patrick does not bat it away. He likes the call your shot mood, then uses the same spot for a calmer but still slippery Brighton take. Brighton become the regression case. Patrick points to clubs outside the big six, maybe big seven if Newcastle count now, struggling after Europe. Leicester, West Ham, Wolves, and Burnley end up as his cautionary trail for European adventure turning into league drag. Nobody sells this as airtight research. The best bit is Patrick saying historically before he has fully tied himself to the facts, then noticing the examples actually back him up. That is the show working. A real football point comes in wearing a fake mustache, gets heckled, and still makes the board. The ending stays loose. Manchester vibes are being brought down to London, the Premheads get thanked, and the one take outro joke lands with a shrug. The preview is late, messy, weirdly specific, and happy to be exactly what its intro warned about.
