The Smurl Family Haunting Part 2

·34 min·5 clips
The house does not let go. The cold open returns to Ed Warren in Jack and Janet's bedroom, trying to provoke whatever has been tormenting the family. At first, nothing. Then the room answers. The television glows, noise roars through the space, drawers move, and mirrors swing until the bedroom feels less like a room than a trap. Ed keeps going. With a crucifix, holy water, a bible, and prayer, he orders the force out until the room finally settles. The advice afterward is blunt: keep holy water, religious candles, sage, and faith nearby, and call the church if the demon comes back. Then it follows them outside. On a family break, Jack sees a smiling little girl vanish and reappear, while a voice across the lake calls for help. The search finds nothing. Back home, things get rougher. Murray is lifted from bed, Shannon is thrown from a bunk, and the shadow man appears near the toy box. Janet is attacked again too. Father Robert E. McKenna returns for one last attempt, blessing each room and every family member, even Simon the dog. For three days, life almost feels normal. The host lets that pause sit there, because for a moment it sounds like the family might actually get their house back. Then the banging starts in the hallway, wakes everyone, and stops just long enough to make bedtime feel worse. The ending stays uneasy. After the Smurls leave the duplex on Chase Street, later residents do not seem to report the same haunting. So what was it: belief, hoax, or something that stayed with the family?

As heard by us

A grim, orderly retelling of a haunting that keeps tightening the dread.

The episode stays with the Smurl case after the first jolt and lets the pressure settle in slow, ugly layers, moving from Warren-led ritual to the family’s fear at home.
