Episode 104 – More Power, Smart Cars and Popcorn

Eric and Daryl open the show the way they usually do, with loose banter and a bit of mutual needling. A guitar joke gets things moving. Daryl talks about beach days, an Epiphone, and the fact that he does not actually play guitar. Drums are the family lane, and that comes with a joke about coordination too. They thank listeners for the emails and keep the tone easy. From there, the conversation turns toward Toyota and the chance of a Supra return. The question is not just whether it comes back, but whether it should show up with a V6 or a V8. Smart cars come up next, along with the bigger question of whether bringing them back to the USA makes sense. Then the hosts land on the most modern annoyance of all: paying for more horsepower on a monthly bill. That idea gets the skepticism it deserves. The talk then wanders into winter-driving memory, which is usually where the show finds its best scars. Two wheel drive in ice gets no respect. One host recalls having to pull into a parking lot and call his wife because a hill was not happening. Another memory lands on a sister in law's place and a car that was staying put. The old Mustang Cobra years come up as proof that some daily driver choices age into stories. A Volare, an Astro van, and a front wheel drive Dodge Colt each get their turn in the weather report. The Colt gets particular praise for simply getting on with the job. Even the drifting memories come with a shrug and a laugh. The closing stretch folds back into listener appreciation, a Jersey Mike's gag, and the usual sign-off. It all ends with a clear invite to keep sending notes and come back for episode 105.
