Dan Revman opens with Bill Neely and a friendly local connection. They joke that their spouses are both named Cindy, and Revman notes that he knows Neely through Social Venture Partners. Neely joins as executive director of the San Antonio Community Resource Directory, or SACRED without the E. The talk begins with that connection and quickly shifts to why the work matters. Neely says that makes it useful for both professionals and individuals. Case managers, social workers, and faith community volunteers use it all the time. Some of them go back to it several times a day. The episode also gives a sense of scale. SACRED went from zero users to about 11,000 website visits a week. That level has held for years. Neely says spring of 2025 has dipped a bit. He ties that drop to layoffs in the nonprofit world and money leaving San Antonio. Even so, he does not treat the decline as proof that need has gone away. The need is still there. A major point of the conversation is that SACRED was built first for the person looking for help. Because of that, it is also easy for navigators and helpers to use in their work.
