Easter Message | April 4th, 2026 | Roy Geesey

April 7, 2026·1 hr 1 min·4 clips
Geesey says Jesus 'ruined my funeral' — a service that would have eulogized a man who nearly destroyed himself, had Jesus not walked into a bathroom 30 years ago.
How could our lives not be different? That question keeps driving the sermon. The preacher returns again and again to one claim: the power that raised Jesus from the tomb now lives in believers. He begins at the tomb and does not rush past it. Jesus really died, not as a symbol and not halfway, so the resurrection lands as victory over real death. Nobody killed Jesus, he says. Jesus willingly laid down his life. From there, the message turns into worship, then into a direct challenge. If that same resurrection power lives in you, sin and the old identity do not get to keep naming you. Truth is the line in the sand. The preacher says believers do not need to fixate on the devil's work when they know Jesus' voice and the life he gives. If it steals, it should be questioned. Killing, stealing, and destroying belong to the enemy. Christ offers abundant life. Do you know his voice? The question gets practical fast. Sheep may hear stranger voices, but they are not meant to follow them. The old self crucified with Christ becomes the sermon’s spine. He repeats the passage until it sounds less like an idea and more like a command: believe your body of sin has been dealt with. You are not a slave. Because Christ was raised never to die again, that victory reaches into the listener's identity now and their obedience next. The altar call comes in hot. He prays for God to consume what people have put on the altar, fill them with the Spirit, and send them out as new creations in Christ.

As heard by us

A direct resurrection message that turns belief into a present-tense call to live differently.

The message stays squarely on resurrection power and keeps the focus in the present tense. It says Jesus died and rose, then presses the point that the same power now lives in believers, shaping speech, conduct, and resistance to fear.
