"It took him literally the whole show to get good" at basketball, the host says of Slam Dunk's lead.

1. Otaku Jump Podcast #84 is the last August episode and covers the year's box office, Gamescom 2025 announcements, Black Ops 7 leaks and an anime catch-up. 2. The host runs the stream with co-host Omega, who joins partway through to discuss Alien Earth and Dawn to Dawn, after greeting cast members Vision, Cynical and Eric. 3. The opening box office segment ranks Lilo and Stitch second behind Ne Zha 2, says Minecraft has "only 50,000 left" to reach $1 billion, and puts Superman sixth at $600 million. 4. The Gamescom rundown highlights Black Myth Zongqiu as a full sequel rather than DLC, Resident Evil Requiem as RE9 next year, and a multiplayer mode for Ghost of Yotei. 5. It also covers a Lego Batman game, Legacy of the Dark Knight, that ties together films, games and comics, and a Fortnite Squid Game tie-in. 6. A Hollywood Reporter item says Ryan Reynolds will appear as Deadpool in Avengers Doomsday, while a leak says Call of Duty Black Ops 7 arrives in November without a Switch 2 launch despite Microsoft's 2023 10-year agreement. 7. On TV, the host rates Alien Earth at 96% on the Tomatometer and Peacemaker Season 2 at 99%, and Omega says Alien Earth has "no slow moments at all." 8. Omega places Alien Earth before Prometheus and Covenant in the timeline and calls Dawn to Dawn's band-style exorcism episode "like a concert damn near." 9. The host rates Slam Dunk 8 out of 10 because the lead "took the whole show" to improve over 105 episodes, and ranks Ippo above it. 10. Chainsaw Man's movie opens September 24 and Jujutsu Kaisen season three, "The Cooling Game," is expected to get news around its August 31 anniversary, before the hosts compare notes on playing Sagat in a fighting game.
