Seagull holds blessed dynamite to a 10-foot demon's face, demanding secrets about their enemy Vex in exchange for its life.
This episode is a special side story in the Clusterfork campaign of the Monster of the Week actual play podcast One Less Die. The episode focuses on two hunters, Marvin Swamps and Seagull, who were absent from previous games. The GM, Chris, sets the scene two years after the Sporks incident, with Chuck Forks needing help for his cursed daughter Nella. The hunters are in Necrophilic Park in Maple Moose County, redeeming ghosts, when a spectral steamship appears. They discuss a plan to cleanse the entire county using a holy crop duster and a fire truck filled with blessed water. To acquire a fire truck, they contact Father McGillicuddy of St. Column Kill Church, who offers one in exchange for performing an exorcism in Aurelia. The dossier describes a sinking Canadian Tire building on Barry Road and West Street South, where employees report sulfur smells, moldy carpets, bleeding rugs, and a lizard man. At the site, Marvin uses a PK meter that spikes at the building, indicating high supernatural activity. Inside, they find a wetland environment and confront a 10-foot tall demonic creature named Tank. Seagull uses blessed dynamite to force a negotiation. Tank offers a demonic lodestone to track his kin, Vex, in exchange for a peaceful return to hell. They perform the exorcism, sending Tank to the Stygian Mire. Afterward, they retrieve a cracked demon stone from the swampy corner, causing the building to collapse. They avoid news crews and collect a 1950s fire truck from Father McGillicuddy. The GM reveals the backstory: the demon stone fell off a train a century ago, cracked when the building sank, and Tank was using the polluted land for a ritual to break free. The episode ends with the hunters planning to use the fire truck and demon stone for future missions.

As heard by us

A shabby carpet-store exorcism turns supernatural trouble into warm, messy table comedy.

A curse on Nella drags Chuck Forks back toward supernatural trouble, leading the hunters into a battered carpet retailer where mold, brimstone, dead store lights, and carpet rolls do plenty of scene-setting.
