SS 35. Lighthouse Point Smugglers (Parts 3 & 4)

February 21, 2026·33 min·3 clips
Clark and Jimmy find the abandoned lighthouse door mysteriously open as they hear a speedboat in the fog.
The host starts in a plain, warm gear. He apologizes for the delay, says the holidays got overwhelming, and brings the listener back into Superman Saturdays without making a production of it. Then the serial takes over. Clark Kent and young Jimmy Olsen are still on the New England coast, caught up in the strange trouble around Aunt Louisa Horn's house. Suspicion sits on Aunt Lou for a while. The host comes back to that later, asking whether she made up the lighthouse light just to get people out of the house. She did not. That matters because the story has been letting everyone sit in doubt before handing over proof. Superman gets a rescue scene, though it is hardly neat. The stranger falls to the rocks and hits his head before Superman can pull him away from the assumed smugglers. Even so, the save shifts the story. The unknown man ends up back at the lighthouse, and his identity becomes another question instead of another body in the dark. The speedboat throws in more trouble. Once Superman is seen coming down out of the night sky, where that boat is headed becomes one more loose end. Then Aunt Lou calls the lighthouse. Three rings mean trouble, and the locked cellar door makes her side of the story feel suddenly urgent. The host clearly likes that slow squeeze. He says the mysteries keep compounding, and he enjoys how the storyline waits until about part four before giving up real answers. Christopher Horne also moves into the suspicious column. From what comes out here, he may have been running with the smugglers, though the host does not overstate it. That restraint fits the episode. The fun is not one big twist. It is the old serial stretching a lighthouse, a phone bell, a fall, and family suspicion right to the next cliff edge.

As heard by us

A coastal serial that keeps revealing one answer while another clue takes its place.

Lighthouse Point Smugglers keeps its coastal mystery moving through parts 3 and 4, with Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen still caught between suspicion and patience as Aunt Louisa looks either helpful or quietly complicit.
