Marvel Zombies

·1 hr 52 min·5 clips
Now Playing opens the review with its familiar Marvel-flavored intro and a clear spoiler warning. Arnie, Justin, and Stuart then settle into a conversation that treats Marvel Zombies as much a continuity puzzle as a horror story. The hosts keep circling back to how much the series assumes the audience already knows. Red Dust becomes the clearest example. They pause to ask what it is and why it matters. From there, the talk shifts to the larger problem of minor characters arriving without enough reintroduction. One host points out that not everyone has Black Widow or the pandemic-era release window burned into memory. Even so, they agree the plot still mostly tracks. A magic doodad taken from a zombie sets the story in motion. S.H.I.E.L.D. decodes it. That leads to the idea that help might be available from space if Earth can get a signal through the atmosphere. The catch is a Wakanda event that leaves behind radiation and blocks transmission. The show keeps teasing that barrier until episode three. The panel also spends time trying to place the timeline. An explosion, the Valley of the Gods sequence, Thanos, Captain Marvel, and Icarus all get pulled into the same memory loop. The Eternals haze only makes that confusion more obvious. Thor comes up as the obvious comparison the story never quite uses. The hosts joke through the gaps, but the complaint stays grounded: a real movie would usually re-establish more of this. Their conclusion is that the series is built for the most devoted Marvel fans, not for people walking in cold. The review still finds room to enjoy the ride because the broad gist is clear even when the specifics are muddy.

As heard by us

A spoiler-heavy Marvel Zombies review that gets sharpest when the lore piles up.

This Now Playing review treats Marvel Zombies as a continuity test more than a tidy genre recap, and it leans into how much fun the panel has picking apart where the series expects Marvel homework.
