Not Well | A Comedy Podcast · Bobby, Jim & Friends

Your Girl With IBS is Getting Finger Banged in First Class

·1 hr 6 min·5 clips
Bobby and Jem come back after a long gap and admit they have not exactly been punctual. The episode starts with a political clip about Ms. Stansbury, a point of order, and some back-and-forth about chairing and speaking time. Then they say hello, laugh about how long it has been, and get right into catching up. A busy spring gets blamed for the silence. Travel has been constant. Ireland comes up first. New York comes up too. So do Spain, Germany, and Amsterdam. The conversation keeps moving before any one place can really settle in. Bobby talks about needing to read everything, especially small text, references, and notes. That turns into a joke about having a more-info problem. From there they pivot back to Ireland. They notice a lot of bars and restaurants there are decorated like somebody's grandma's house, with shelves, knickknacks, little statues, and pocket watches everywhere. Bobby remembers being obsessed with pocket watches as a kid and even asking for one for Christmas. That leads into the kind of joking self-portrait the show does well, where one detail opens another and the bit keeps widening. They also joke about autism in the middle of the bit. Toward the end they talk about being inconsistent, Bobby painting faces, the idea of hidden talent, the Short North prints, and the call-in number they keep tossing out.

As heard by us

A messy catch-up that moves from Ireland and New York to pocket watches, decor, and a loose comic rhythm.

Not Well opens with political sparring before drifting into a long, unruly catch-up about being away, travel, and schedules that never quite line up.
