Not Well | A Comedy Podcast · Bobby, Jim & Friends

You got so much attention when you were fatter... Now we walk in and we're just old

·1 hr·1 clip
Losing weight meant losing social attention Bobby had previously enjoyed.
Bobby and Jim open by pointing out how cold it is and how much harder it feels to leave the house. The gym turns into a slog, and even a normal workout starts taking longer than it should. They swap notes on procrastination and the annoying ritual of getting ready. One of them jokes about feeling like a sausage, and that turns into a back-and-forth about looks and getting stuck in a bad headspace around appearance. The conversation then jumps to a childhood memory of hearing jokes about Chinese restaurants and missing cats or dogs. That old racism still lingers in the brain and changes how food gets interpreted years later. They talk through the absurdity of people treating dog meat as if it were normal or common in Chinese food. The point is not denial but scale, since rare practices get treated like the whole culture. From there they move into animal rights and the hypocrisy of caring about dogs while ignoring cows, pigs, and chickens. Slaughterhouses and industrial food production come up as the uglier reality behind meat. They also call that double standard especially American. Europe gets framed as more local, more environmentally aware, and more willing to tell people not to eat everything every day. The conversation keeps its loose shape, and even a quick Korean food mention fits into the same running thread. Near the end, the banter snaps over to airport security and the ridiculous way bags get pulled aside. The real suspicion is never weed gummies but some random electronic or a full water bottle. A backpack under the seat gets treated like a moral failure. That irritation becomes its own little bit, the kind they can spin out without pausing for a setup. They wrap by thanking listeners and asking people to share the show. The whole thing feels like two people already halfway into a debate, dragging the listener along at full speed.

As heard by us

Fast, messy duo banter that turns winter laziness into race talk, food ethics, and airport irritation.

Bobby and Jim spend this one in familiar territory: cold-weather complaints, gym avoidance, and the kind of bad body day that takes over everything else.
