#109 ~ Healing Is A Dynamic Process

·24 min
She starts with the yard at 7:33 in the morning. The trees still look bare, but the birds are singing more, and that is enough to signal change. She lingers on that quiet seasonal shift because it mirrors what happens inside people. A long hard season can get so familiar that it starts to feel like identity. She says humans do that all the time. They miss the moment when change has already begun. That leads her into a conversation about health and self-understanding. She has had a realization that she no longer identifies as someone who is sick. She is careful with the language. She says she never fully embraced the label of chronic illness for herself. Even so, she does not pretend the symptoms were small. There was pain. There was vertigo. There was fatigue. Some remnants are still present. She still does not make evening plans lightly. She still does not pack her schedule full. Now, though, that restraint feels like a choice instead of a limitation. She brings in a retreat she hosted in October as a clear example. She felt lit up going into it, but she also worried about whether she could hold that much energy for that long. The first day was mentally demanding and left her exhausted. Then she rested. Then she changed the second day so it lived more in the body and leaned into pleasure. That adjustment made the whole experience feel delicious. She treats the change as evidence that capacity can grow. She has learned to notice when she can push and when she should not. She has also been using the WHOOP app to help her see that more clearly. She says it has been life changing. She makes a point of saying she is not pushing it as a sales pitch. The real message is that tools can help people understand their own rhythms. By the end, she returns to the larger theme. Life moves in transitions. People are always shifting. Nothing stays static. The invitation is to recognize that movement and stop misreading the moment you are in. She closes by naming herself as healthy and thriving. Her body still has aches, including pain in her left hip. But she trusts the work she is doing. She feels herself getting better.
