The Gospel, The Suddenly's and Those Who Marvel | Ps Sharee Rice

December 7, 2025·43 min·3 clips
Rice challenges the congregation: don't spend another Christmas only praying for people without sharing the gospel with them.
Christmas is already in the room. The preacher shows up dressed for the season and jokes with the congregation about how quickly it arrived. Then the service settles in. High fives, Christmas services, and the opening exchange become the way into Scripture, not a detour from it. The point is plain: good news was never meant to sit quietly as private comfort. The sermon keeps moving from receiving a gift to speaking about it. Hear, see, tell. That pattern carries the message, naming what people are meant to do with what they have encountered. The challenge gets uncomfortable in a useful way. The preacher says believers can stop at hearing and seeing, then run off happy with the Christmas gift instead of sharing it. A conversation about a cancer diagnosis makes the point feel ordinary and close. When healing comes, people talk. If someone hears there is no more cancer in their body, that news spills into the people around them. So why hide Jesus? Romans 10 gives the sermon its logic: people call, believe, hear, and preach because messengers are sent. The mission turns outward. Jesus saving the least, the last, and the lost is tied to a church willing to live and share the gospel. The closing prayer invites listeners to confess Jesus as Lord, repent, receive eternal life, and ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

As heard by us

A Christmas sermon that turns good news into a direct call to speak up and respond.

It centers on one plain claim: good news is meant to be shared, not kept private. The sermon starts in a warm, lively room, then tightens around a direct call to hear, see, and tell what Jesus has done.
