Move the Mic Stand - Spooky Storytelling with J.J. Fletcher

Move the Mic Stand: comedy podcast with spooky stories and unique guest energy
Cash Money Carl opens with a sponsor read. He plugs MinigolfReviews.com, says it posts a new mini golf hole every single day, and jokes that the site is building the National Archive of Minigolf before the show slides into its own intro patter. The talk quickly turns nostalgic. Golden 7 Up and Crystal Pepsi come up, along with the memory that Crystal Pepsi felt especially prevalent because it came out the year one of the hosts was born. Then the snack arguments start. They compare Cool Ranch Doritos with the older plain field of nacho cheese and cheddar, and they settle into a long complaint about how many flavors exist now. The conversation keeps wandering. One host says they have talked enough about ranch and tries to steer the room toward the book. The book finally gets named. Echoes of the Unearthly is introduced, J.J. Fletcher is identified as the author, and the hosts say the name is a pen name. The joke deepens. They explain J.J. Fletcher as Jim and Jess Fletcher, connect it to an adorable puppy, and then pivot into a Richard Bachman comparison. Stephen King enters the riff. One host admits he does not know who Richard Bachman is, and the other explains that Bachman is Stephen King while beginning to answer how the alias works. The show stays loose. Near the end they hit a mangled line about pumpkin fucking, laugh at the dyslexia joke, and keep moving toward the finish. The goodbye becomes a bit. They set up a spooky farewell, count to three, and all try to say bye in spooky voices together. The ending stays messy and playful. A Tape Deck Media production tag closes things out after the overlapping goodbye and the final Beep, beep, Richie beat.

As heard by us

A loose hang that folds soda nostalgia and a pen-name reveal into the main draw.

Move the Mic Stand settles into a sidelong comic groove, letting a sponsor read, soda nostalgia, and a pen-name reveal share space with a spooky, slightly goofy sign-off.
