Seattle, Ear Pods, Drugs | Thursday Afternoon Monday Morning Podcast 1-9-26

January 9, 2026·2 hr 25 min·8 clips
Bill Burr opens from his car before a meeting, apologizing for being late after traveling to Seattle. He starts with the view outside his window: coffee, banks, fast food, and CVS. That quickly turns into a complaint about pharmacies closing, Duane Reades disappearing, and body wash being locked up like it's worth something. From there he widens the rant into Venezuela and the contradiction of condemning harm while doing harm yourself. The middle section shifts into food and health rules. He jokes about gluten, admits he has been living the gluten-free life, and works through the weirdness of realizing how many foods he likes are the ones he is supposed to avoid. He leans toward cauliflower mash because butter can fix a lot, then walks through shepherd's pie as a practical dinner built from mashed potatoes, peas, lamb, onion, salt, and pepper. Corn gets singled out as the ingredient that does not belong. Truffle oil gets a short scolding as something that ruins a good plate. The episode keeps moving from one irritation to the next without trying to be tidy. Near the end, the show slides into sports picks and a sign-off that gets tangled in technical difficulties. The result is a fast, messy Burr set that feels improvised and loose.

Bill Burr spends most of this one in his car, checking in late after traveling the day before and with a meeting still ahead. He moves from Seattle, locked-up pharmacies, and toiletries to Venezuela, then into a long, irritated stretch about what the government is doing.
