Billy Hockeyface is back and catching up on every Bruins game he missed on the road.
Bill Burr opens by greeting listeners in his usual sideways, high-speed way. He is already mid-thought before the first minute settles. The Bruins are on his mind, as are the games he missed while traveling. He catches up on San Jose, Washington, New Jersey, and Montreal. The overtime games clearly stuck with him. He keeps coming back to how long the Capitals shootout dragged on and how beat everybody on the ice looked by the end. Then he locks onto the Sharks. Celebrini is the name that gets the biggest reaction. Burr looks up the stats and decides the secret is definitely out on the kid. He sounds genuinely impressed by how fun he is to watch. He also notices the Sharks' road look and the matching helmet-and-shorts setup. That sends him into a bit about old hockey pants and the Cooperalls. The show keeps moving without stopping for clean transitions. Burr then pivots into why the episode was late. He had flown back from Toronto after two shows in Kitchener. He says the crowd and venue were great. He talks about choosing a late flight so he could be home when his daughter woke up. That turns into a familiar Burr worry about missing parts of family life because of work. He tells a small story about the UPS guy coming up the walk and his daughter calling for him. The guilt lands, even with the jokes around it. He then describes a morning with his daughter before a meeting from ten to twelve. After that, his wife says they are going to take their daughter to see the Easter bunny. Burr goes along because he does not want to miss it. The child, now older than she was last year, is not sold on the giant costume. Burr watches her stare at the rabbit with deep suspicion. He tries to make it feel safe by shaking the bunny's hand. It does not fully work. From there, the episode slides into a closing bit with Nia. They joke about cheating, code names, bowling alleys, and aging bodies. Burr pretends that if he ever stepped out, he would call himself Mitzi. Nia gives it right back. The exchange lands as blunt, domestic, and very much in the show's lane. The whole thing feels like Burr thinking out loud until the thoughts turn into bits.

As heard by us

A loose Burr rant that moves from hockey overtime to family guilt without losing steam.

Bill Burr starts with an easy, wandering check-in that turns a sports recap into a ramble, with hockey doing most of the work. He lingers on the Sharks, Celebrini, overtime, and the odd business of hockey gear, then drifts into travel, family guilt, and the awkward task of…
