Ep 159 - Forgiving a War with a Co-Worker - Dustin Cardinal

·48 min·5 clips
Dustin Cardinal brings a conflict into the room. He describes being very emotional and asking spirit, the universe, God, or whatever name he could use, what he was supposed to do with it. The question was simple and hard at the same time: how do you not hate this guy after the hurt and anger have already set in? For a while, he could not let it go. Then, after asking to be shown what the situation was about, words other people had said began to click into place. The other person seemed driven by fear about not being liked and by his own issues. That change in perspective turned the situation into a call for love instead of just an attack. Dustin says that was the start of the forgiveness process, not the end. He is clear that it is not finished. What mattered most was that he had become wide open and was no longer wanting to judge. The conversation stays grounded in ordinary tension while letting the spiritual meaning come through slowly, with Matthew McCabe and Tam Morgan keeping the tone gentle and unhurried.

As heard by us

An interpersonal grudge becomes a slow study in forgiveness.

Dustin Cardinal frames an emotional conflict story with enough clarity that the hurt feels close at hand, then follows the slower turn toward forgiveness as he tries to imagine what might be going on beneath the other person's behavior.
