WORLD NEWS QUIZ 2025 🌍 with Stephen from SEND7 Podcast [969]

December 29, 2025·2 hr 2 min·5 clips

Luke reads Wikipedia's 2025 summary and urges donations to Doctors Without Borders.

Luke greets listeners warmly and says this may be one of the last episodes of Luke's English Podcast for 2025, possibly even the final one of the year. He introduces the quiz as a regular end-of-year fixture and sends wishes for the end of 2025 and the move into 2026. Stephen joins him from the Simple English News Daily / Send7 podcast, and the two settle into the easy back-and-forth the show does so well. The quiz is never hurried. Luke keeps unpacking the wording and showing why some answers sound right before they fall apart. A question about the Pope becomes the clearest example. They work through the claim that he was born in the United States, note his Peruvian roots and Peruvian nationality, and then reason through why being born in the U.S. also means being born in the Americas. Luke and Stephen also talk through the option about modern English as a first language. The exchange has that familiar Luke quality of thinking aloud, correcting himself, and bringing the listener along for each step. It keeps the quiz playful and educational. The episode closes with Luke's sign-off, best wishes for 2026, a note that there may be another episode still to come, and a mention of extra content for premium listeners. The whole thing feels like an end-of-year check-in: part current-affairs recap, part English lesson, and part friendly long-form chat.
