The joke works because their worry feels both ridiculous and oddly believable. When the village elder invites them in for a warm home-cooked meal, they refuse. They want proof the food was made safely and will not somehow turn their cheeks green. Instead, they decide to head back to sneak some nachos from the turkey chickens. The double-cheese talk starts sounding very tempting. The whole thing keeps moving with a brisk, story-first rhythm, and repetition does a lot of the comic lifting. The ending wraps with a question of the week about skydiving, bungee jumping, scuba diving, or ziplining.
