Live From The 405, Episode 537

I had no trouble with dentists my whole life until one day I had a real bad anxiety attack and I've been shook ever since.
The dentist visit goes better than expected. Broadcasting from Studio D at work in Marina Del Rizzi, the host opens with a teeth cleaning and the odd relief of not spiraling in the chair. He knows that calm is never a sure thing. Dentistry used to bother him barely at all, until one bad day rewired the whole deal. That memory still hangs around. This is not dental advice so much as a gripe about the brain finding a new fear and stamping it approved. Then the episode changes lanes fast. The host moves from the dentist chair to the big game, where the commercials and the spectacle around them remind him why he is fine skipping sports. He misses when the ads felt fun. Ben Affleck and Dunkin Donuts stand in for an older, goofier version of the broadcast circus. Now he hears politics everywhere. The football rant turns into a broader complaint about an organization acting like viewers will put up with anything because they have nowhere else to go. Star Wars gets pulled into the same argument. To him, the NFL and Star Wars both keep testing their base, then act like the base has no choice but to stay. He already hates the sports part. Football, hockey, baseball, all of it gets roasted in one quick burst before he opens a Purple Heist Bang energy drink and keeps rolling. Trailers are next. The teaser for the new Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel does not give him much, which fits his complaint that trailers have started holding back anything worth reacting to. The ending turns seasonal. Valentine's Day becomes a blunt warning about dinner choices, romance, and not ruining the rest of the night with the wrong food. Reggie and the Full Effect becomes the exit music, and the episode leaves the way it came in: mid-thought, irritated, amused, and still moving.
