S3, Ep5: Christmas with our pets, that's a wrap for 2025!

December 22, 2025·27 min·1 clip
Gates, lead work, and upstairs being off-limits keep Dora and the cats separated at Christmas.
The year is winding down. The host treats Christmas 2025 as a lovely but pretty loaded time, with full houses, big feelings, and pets picking up on more of the tension than people sometimes notice. Plan softly. When people arrive or travel, the host wants pet choices, guest comfort, and household rules respected without making it a drama. Cats need exits. Her upstairs area stays dog-free, so the cats still have a familiar place that does not smell like visiting animals. No forcing it. Pets do not have to be social just because the humans are. If the room gets too much, distance is fine. Timeouts are framed as decompression, not punishment. That keeps the whole thing calmer. Pick rooms where animals can truly settle: bedrooms and utility rooms beat busy hallways. The car can work too, if the pet already feels safe there and the weather is handled properly. The trick is to step in early, before the pet is fully wound up. Guests are part of the setup as well. Asking them to stay out of certain spaces is house management, not fussiness. After wrapping Christmas, the host signs off until client work resumes from the 12th of January and asks for 2026 guest and topic ideas.
