Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls

"It's Jerry's place" – the party trades a dwarven thrower for a night at a stranger's house, not an inn.
1. Knights of the Rolled Table, the D&D actual-play podcast, continues its Kal Tavon mission in "Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls," a roughly 80-minute episode that runs from a roadside overnight stay to the besieged keep of Cultivat. 2. DM Jeff runs the game for Biscuit, Igneous, Branch, Deidre and Yenny, who were sent by Knights Elder Tendros from Oakheart to learn why the dragonborn kingdom went silent. 3. The episode opens with a comic detour, a town whose only notable sight is a waterfall, and then shifts to a darker mystery as the party finds the dragonborn city empty and shrouded in haze. 4. At "Jerry's place," the party trades a dwarven thrower for lodging, learns it is a private home ("a VRBO situation"), and Biscuit conjures a Tiny Hut with a 10-foot radius and room for nine creatures. 5. The next morning, stable hand Jendaya answers questions about the waterfall, Igneous casts mending repeatedly on a roof damaged by Sally Mae and the rats, and a 13 on an insight check suggests Jendaya is a failed tourism promoter rather than a threat. 6. Jendaya hands over a postcard showing himself beside a waterfall that only reaches his shoulders, and the party leaves after the line "not since the hag cursed us anyway." 7. Mid-episode, Jeff's outro describes a live recording at the Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park, San Diego, announces a first-ever live episode at Comic-Con, and credits Weston Gardner's combat music and Chris Daily's art. 8. Flying toward a large mesa in the middle of a valley, Branch rolls a 15 on Nature and notices brown, discolored trees and murky water before the group reaches walls covered in long black strands. 9. After a Constitution save (rolls of 15, 19, 10, 5 and 12), the smell hits Deidre hardest, so the party lands in the inner courtyard, where emaciated dragonborn children ask for food and Biscuit's Enlarge spell turns Branch's Goodberries into apples. 10. Warden Clan Rock says the king and queen's investigation went wrong, that the queen is isolated in a tower, and that the oozes cannot pass granite, while Branch notes that oozes normally do not act in groups; it suits fans of D&D actual plays with humor and mystery.
