When God Finds A Family - When Families Agree: Who Are You Acting Like?

·1 hr 24 min·5 clips
Ezekiel 18 says “the son shall not bear the guilt of the father.”
Pastor starts with family. He says the message is for everybody, including singles, because there is a family inside of you right now and you are going to unite with somebody and carry out these family precepts. He keeps the title broad. He names the main thought as when families agree, then folds in who are you acting like and five things every family should know, treating all of it as one sermon with room to move. He moves fast. He jokes that it is his message and he can have as many topics as he wants, then uses that freedom to keep pressing the same burden: family has to learn agreement if it wants power. He brings in Scripture. He points to Jesus' teaching that if two agree concerning anything they ask, it will be done by the Father, then imagines a godly family starting Monday by asking what everybody is agreeing for and believing for that week. He turns it practical. He names Shelly, Johnny, and Mama as the kinds of needs a household can pray through together until they come to pass, and he pairs that with the line that one can chase a thousand while two can put ten thousand to flight. He names the enemy. He says the devil works to make families one-man shows, separating young men from their dads and young girls from mama and dad, because God calls tribes, not isolated people. He widens the lens. He says each family has an area and an assignment from God, so the point is not only surviving together but fulfilling what the household was made to do. He keeps the tone warm. He talks about blended families, jokes about tickets and kids, and keeps coming back to the plain charge to love your children, be jovial, and refuse to let this wicked world rob the blessing of family. He lands the plane on longing. He says some people in the room want rich family, family the right way, not just money, and he invites prayer and salvation with that desire still in view. He does not let go. The closing push stays on rich family, right family, and a household that agrees enough to stand together under God.

As heard by us

A sermon about family agreement, shared prayer, and the work of staying unified.

This sermon keeps returning to family agreement, asking who belongs, how a household acts, and what changes when people move together. It stays close to the church room at first, then opens out to singles, blended families, parents, and whole families carrying the same precepts.
