The Kildare Pooka-Storytelling Podcast for Kids

·12 min·1 clip

The puka reveals he was the laziest servant ever, now cursed to clean kitchens every night as punishment.

Host Kathleen Pelly tells an Irish folktale about lazy servants in County Kildare who take advantage of their master's absence, only to encounter a magical pooka—a shape-shifting creature—that cleans their kitchen each night. When the servants reward the pooka too soon, they learn a lesson about responsibility and the consequences of laziness.
