Descendants - BOOK ONE: "Inheritance" (FULL SEASON SUPERCUT)

January 1, 2023·2 hr 55 min·5 clips
Reporter Damien Wilde accuses Axel Crichton of covering up the adamantine crash and the death of his brother.
The episode opens with xenopaleontologist Chell Stadler confronting scientist Peter Crichton at a conference, warning him that the Black Orion bacteria he's using for colony bioengineering is a voracious parasite eating Jupiter. The scene then shifts to Axel Crichton, Peter's brother and CEO of Aphelion Industries, who is publicly addressing the delayed return of the adamantine spaceship while his team privately scans for any sign of it. Two children, Clay and Rose, explore outside the Rossiter Moon Colony and discover a crash site, which is soon secured by the Aphelion recovery crew Juno, led by Captain Rory Cassini. Axel is later confronted by Empire Post reporter Damien Wilde, who accuses him of covering up the adamantine crash and the deaths onboard; Axel has his assistant dig up dirt on Wilde to silence him. Captain Cassini confirms to Axel that the adamantine has been found crashed, with decomposed remains and a mysterious green biological sample. The sample, taken to Axel's office, comes alive and attacks his assistant Andrea, triggering a full building quarantine. Axel and Rory are trapped together and must escape the creature, now identified as having come from the adamantine. They meet Dr. Simon Medlin, a colleague of Peter and Chell, who is injured. Through comms with crew members Maul and Declan, they learn the creatures, called 'Gorgons' in logs, can rapidly reproduce by turning humans into crystalline statues. Simon reveals he is infected with the Black Orion bacteria, which he had kept in the lab. The group attempts an escape through air vents, using a plan to trick a creature's tracking, while hallucinatory visions of Chell haunt Axel. They eventually contact Maul and Declan, who have hacked security cameras and seen the creatures multiplying. Simon's infection worsens, and he decides to merge with it to help the others escape, as the episode ends with the group still trapped and the threat escalating.
