How To Make Your New Year's Resolutions And Goals A Reality

January 1, 2024·15 min·15 clips
He opens with a repeated welcome. Then he frames the show as a place for health and fitness tips, but also for coaching in nutrition, functional medicine, business, finances, and personal improvement, since his work reaches corporate clients, executives, entrepreneurs, CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and professional athletes. The New Year is the target. He says many people wait until New Year's Eve or the weeks just before January 1 to think about the changes they want, then hope the calendar itself will carry them through. That is not his view. He says the real job is to build the right mindset, the right philosophy, and the right goals before the date arrives, because the plan has to exist before the pressure does. He keeps the pace moving and repeats the same core point enough for it to stick. Associations come next. He leans on the Jim Rohn line about being shaped by the people you associate with, then warns that sketchy, skeptical, or unmotivated company usually pulls results down with it. The fix is simple. He says listeners should improve their network if the people around them are not lifting the standard, and he describes the better kind of circle as ambitious, kind, motivated, energetic, and full of good ideas. Mentors matter too. He says many people miss the results they want because they have the same mentors for too long or no mentors at all, and he makes mentors sound useful because they can encourage you and also point out what you miss. He makes that personal. He says he does this kind of blind-spot coaching for C-level executives, and he also admits the exchange runs both ways because he has blind spots too. The tone stays direct. He keeps returning to purpose, passion, and intent, while also reminding listeners to enjoy the moment they are in rather than acting as if life will keep offering unlimited time. The ending softens. He closes by saying he cannot take on new patients right now, but he can still guide people, write back, and send them in the right direction before wishing everyone a good 2024.

A blunt reset on why intentions fail and why the people around you matter.

This episode makes a straightforward case that New Year goals fail less because of weak willpower than because the surrounding setup stays the same.
