Last Looks: The Forbidden Dance

April 3, 2026·38 min·2 clips
Paul Scheer reveals listener-submitted taglines for The Forbidden Dance and teases Jason's visit and a jackass movie set story.
The Forbidden Dance gets one more messy lap, and Paul lets Last Looks stay loose. There are listener bits, alternate taglines, theme-song housekeeping, and a Tommy Wiseau impression he is not pretending to master. Daddy Coconut is around, because of course he is. The mailbag never really turns into a recap. It feels more like a table full of people interrupting each other, where one stray detail can become the whole meal. Then the metal-coin pool takes over. A pool full of solid metal sounds like it should settle itself, but this room treats obvious as a dare. The duck theory has to be tested. Soon the bit is wearing a tailored robe, dealing with a monocle, and running into the sad limits of practical bird costuming. That is the episode in miniature: one dumb question, followed past the point where anyone sensible would stop. Paul's visit to the Jackass 5 set pulls the show into stunt talk, but the best part is lunch. The crew breaks like a normal film set, which gets very funny once he pictures people eating chicken breast and rice before going back to getting punished on camera. He is also struck by the speed of it. The stunts seem to move almost as quickly as they play for the audience, with little reset beyond a clean setup line. Preston and Wee Man come up, and the older original cast raises the question of whether a younger group now carries some of the mayhem. Even the ending keeps hopping: Mindhunters, streaming notes, follow-and-download reminders, production thanks. Nothing gets sanded smooth. It is a fast addendum where The Forbidden Dance mainly gives Paul and the listeners permission to chase bits, fake physics, and one weirdly memorable Jackass lunch break.

As heard by us

Paul Scheer turns Forbidden Dance listener leftovers and a Jackass 5 set visit into a loose, very specific comedy detour.

How Did This Get Made? turns The Forbidden Dance leftovers into a loose, giddy Last Looks lap, with Paul Scheer fielding listener issues, alt taglines, and the kind of corrections that immediately stop being corrections.
