#220 - With Jack Mazz - Hot Water’s Green Room w/Tony & Jamie

March 2, 2026·1 hr 2 min·4 clips
Paddle tennis gets compared to EncroChat, with fake names, ratings, and drug-deal vibes.
The bit opens on overcommitment. A normal game becomes a full lifestyle upgrade: a 200 quid bat, lessons, and the grim seriousness of men who cannot just enjoy something. Everyone knows the type. The host owns up to doing it too, chasing a new itch hard and then dropping it two weeks later like it never happened. Darts gets it next. Someone has spent money on a serious setup, while the saner version is just going to the pub and throwing properly. Then the shirt comes in. The room locks onto the image of a silk darts top in the bedroom and turns one detail into a sad little stage show. The Gravy Train starts rolling. Once the phrase lands, it keeps coming back because the room will not let it sit still. Jack gets pulled in as well. His reach somehow becomes proof he should play darts, because apparently arm length is enough to build a whole persona around. The excuse barely tries to hold up. Dressing up becomes escapism, darts becomes mental health, and the joke works because it sounds ridiculous and a bit true. The admin is just as loose. Patreon math, live-show savings, and ticket plugs trip over each other in the same rhythm as the chat. Then the mood turns. The closing plug names Davey Ash, says he passed away last week, and points listeners toward a fundraising show for his family. Even that gets corrected live, with the date moving from April to March in the room. The show leaves the mess in. It still ends joking, with Jack told he could be the lead singer of a band, because nobody here can leave a goodbye alone.
