The nightmare leaves proof. The narrator wakes with a swollen cheek and a fresh red bruise, then checks the mirror because it looks like the dream hit back. The old bruises are still there. Since leaving Power Slab, the bad dreams have stopped feeling random. They come often enough to ruin sleep, and ointment does not make the whole thing make sense. The daily stuff keeps going anyway: work, showers, delivery food, scrolling at night. That normal routine makes the violence feel stranger, not easier to explain. Then the upstairs noise starts. Someone above keeps playing episodes on repeat through the night, and the apartment becomes one more place where rest is impossible. The fire alarm changes the situation fast. The narrator grabs keys, wallet, cards, a laptop, and whatever else seems worth saving before getting out. Even after that, the damage follows them home. When the building is no longer livable, finding another place turns urgent and miserable. Nothing stays separate for long. Nightmares, noise, displacement, and bad coincidences keep crowding people who are only trying to get through an ordinary day. The last story tightens the fear: a break-in that starts small, with a doorbell, someone outside, and a strange excuse about looking for a teacher. The watchers had been close.
