Baseball Hall of fame Ballot and Shill Bidding E360

·58 min·2 clips

The 2026 Hall of Fame ballot is here—plus there's a shill bidding scandal shaking up the hobby.

Hobby Hotline #360 features John (host), Orlando, and Victor Roman discussing the 2026 Baseball Contemporary Era Hall of Fame Ballot with candidates: Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Carlos Delgado, Jeff Kent, Don Mattingly, Dale Murphy, Gary Sheffield, and Fernando Valenzuela. Panel analyzes how Hall of Fame designation drives massive price premiums and collecting focus. Discussion reveals core debate: steroid-era inductees (Bonds, Clemens) have undeniable records but tainted legacy; pre-1990s players (Murphy, Mattingly, Dwight Evans) got penalized because steroid-era records look more impressive due to pharmaceutical enhancement and tighter-wound baseballs.
