Hello From The Magic Tavern · Arnie Niekamp

Season 5, Ep 91 - Eleven Years

March 9, 2026·54 min·5 clips
Arnie drops a bombshell: after 11 years together, the hosts must split up to save Foon.
The tavern opens with BetterHelp business. Financial stress gets mixed into wizard priorities, because even vanquishing evil gets harder when money worries start rattling around the hovel. Then the vodka turns suspicious. Nobody seems fully sure whether words are still words, which is a fine time for papers to come back to the table. Haley Hanlon offers pretzel bones. The spell turns bones into pretzels, unless someone answers with the blunt counterspell, no pretzel bones for you. That should end it. It does not. The room finds out fast that wizards can loop the phrase until a final duel sounds like playground logic with robes. Spintax becomes the imagined target. Magical defenses, dramatic entrances, and grave wizard diction all buckle under no pretzel bones for me. The loopholes keep multiplying. Can the curse bounce back? Does that make this a rules argument with snack anatomy? Yes, basically. It is silly and weirdly tactical. Wizard power has apparently been linked to bones, so pretzel bones sound useful for about half a breath. Then everyone remembers counterspells, cooties, and table demonstrations exist here. A nearby patron becomes evidence. The credits keep chewing on the bit after Patreon notes, production names, and the March Magic Brackets have ended. Even the cut joke gets a last little life: Arnie remembers Kan, pretzel bones, and an Auntie Anne's joke that is too much of a walk, then gets tucked after the credits anyway.

As heard by us

A sponsor-heavy start still gives way to a sharp, escalating pretzel-bones bit that keeps the fantasy chaos moving.

The episode starts with a sponsor-heavy opening before settling into a stretch of improvised nonsense about pretzel bones: a spell that slowly turns bones into pretzels, then reverses itself with the right counterphrase.
