Hello From The Magic Tavern · Arnie Niekamp

Season 5, Ep 85 - Arnor in Pizza Hell (w/ Blaine Swen)

January 26, 2026·1 hr·5 clips
Arnor is condemned to eternally push a giant meatball up a mountain in Pizza Hell, unable to achieve a single feat.
The tavern opens already sideways. A fake-not-real intro drifts in from another comedy podcast, detours through Golden Globe grumbling, and then Arnie is back in Foon. The trouble is already underway. Someone has burned the roof of his mouth, red chili flakes seem to be flying, and the ferryman lands in the middle of the damage report. His name is Alan, which is almost too normal for a winged ferryman in a world where ranch waterfalls count as scenery. Chunt has eaten his wings. The good news, if that is the right phrase, is that Alan's wings grow back. The bad news is that eating them hurts enough to make him scream. The group treats this nightmare biology like a travel inconvenience, which is very much Tavern logic. Then Chunt says Alan would never have shown up in a million guesses, so Arnie gives him a million guesses. The first is Pizza Lax. The second is Gary. Everyone keeps telling him the answer is Alan, while Chunt insists the guesses are a gift. Eventually he says Alan, and getting it in three becomes a win with hundreds of thousands of guesses left over. After the credits and Patreon business, the ending goes strangely lonely: someone waits several days for promised help, realizes it is not coming, and keeps making pizza. Dumb, bleak, and somehow tender.

As heard by us

Alan's wings, a name-guessing game, and a da pizza refrain keep Hello from the Magic Tavern moving.

Hello from the Magic Tavern keeps its comic engine simple and effective: Alan the ferryman, his regenerating wings, and a long-running name-guessing game.
