Hallmarks The Spot: A Hallmark Movie Review show · DAMjr Podcasting

Countdown 22 Recap #2

·54 min·2 clips
A good umbrella could win any fight—this Hallmark movie thinks so too.
They start with their usual over-the-top greeting and settle into the fact that they are still talking about Christmas movies. Ellie and Jim also mention they may toss in a couple of Weddingvale comments. They admit the recording date is February 6. The Christmas tree is still up. The rest of the decorations are partly down. Some outside decorations were taken down around Epiphany. A few stockings were basically put away by landing on the dryer. They note that a Super Bowl get-together is coming up. After that, they get back to the movies. One thread is a Hallmark story about a game developer who melts down because the game is not the way he wanted it. They keep coming back to the fact that he does not work well with others. They also tease the idea that a gorgeous woman keeps throwing herself at him. Another thread is the woman from the Philadelphia bookstore movie. They tie her to the amnesia-and-bike-hit setup and keep groping for the title as they talk. Jim and Ellie describe her as part of his team. She watches him self-destruct. The show remembers that there is history between them, and that she sticks with him even after he blows up. Then they pivot to a baby being left at the firehouse with a note asking someone to look after it for a while. He brings the baby home and dumps the problem on his mother. His mother’s sister is hurt and has to go out of town, leaving the brothers to handle the baby. The mother tells him he needs to grow up. They end by remembering A Cozy Christmas Inn as a delete. The closing stretch turns into show housekeeping, with their email, the Damnshow site, the podcast network, and a last goodnight to Laura.

As heard by us

A February Hallmark check-in built on banter, memory, and a still-standing Christmas tree.

Ellie and Jim spend this episode on Christmas Hallmark movies, even though they are recording on February 6th and the tree is still up, with a few decorations only half put away.
