Campaign 2: Episode 180 - Super Rat Day

·1 hr 6 min·5 clips
Screech throws three magic rats as flaming shurikens at a giant robot mole burrowing through the wine cellar.
The roll call comes in sideways. Michael DeMauro opens the table, Nika checks whether anyone can hear her, and the introductions keep getting stolen by bits before the adventure gets much room. Michael Bachman arrives already loose. One stray performance turns into everyone trying to decide whether he is singing, covering a song, or just saying lyrics with alarming confidence. The campaign still has stakes. The party is headed downstairs with magic in play, but the urgent problem is much dumber and much funnier: hide the rat situation from wedding guests and family. Nobody lets the scene stay tidy for long. A question about Jennifer's mom's voice becomes an aggressively overcooked character choice, and the table rides the joke until everyone has to drag things back toward the scene. Then the cover story kicks in. The group claims to be servants with the catering company and explains that there is a disturbance downstairs, carefully avoiding the part where the wedding might be full of rats. Their logic gets weirdly precise. Guests cannot know about the rats, because they might panic, blame the wine, or decide the whole event is crawling. So the party invents wine science. A temperature change from 58 to 62 degrees becomes the fake emergency, delivered with total confidence and very little certainty about what large rats do to a cellar. That is the sweet spot here: tactical thinking wrapped around a lie that keeps getting worse because everyone is trying to make it sound normal. The mechanics still matter. Persuasion or deception enters the scene, luck points come back into play, and the joke has to survive the rules. After the chaos, the episode returns to show business with network plugs, the Patreon pitch, the Monday release note, and the usual dicey farewell.
