Asian Aunties (Janette McBride and Himali Ratnayake) - Ep 26

·28 min·5 clips
Jeanette brings Aunty Rani into the room, and the chat starts with a friend of Jeanette's mum. Rani is delighted to be there and says she feels like she has won a prize. Jeanette is busy with work and going back to uni, and Rani is happy she is studying again. She especially likes that it is online and calls education very good. The family joke lands on the fact that the course is arts, which they treat as a bit of a shame on the family. The conversation then moves to the cat. Rani is clear that she loves animals from afar: pictures and videos are fine, but not animals in person. If a cat is causing problems, she thinks giving it away can be the only solution, and even a generous one because another family can enjoy it. That free-range logic carries into the zoo story. At Australia Zoo, Rani says she tried to open all the gates because she does not believe in keeping animals in cages and thinks wildlife should be free. Later, she says she took an online course on how to use the internet and computer, and now the plan is to make TikToks and monetize the advice. The episode ends with debut energy, like the first platform for a neighborhood advice brand.
