GW21: Load Management Is Hard

·1 hr 28 min·2 clips
Patreon support opens the show. After that, the hosts drop straight into the familiar New York football misery, with Giants and Jets talk setting the tone for the hour. Nobody comes out of that section feeling better. They note the missing Premier League weekend and are more than happy to have a bit of NFL playoff football fill the gap. The cup news comes next. The FML FPL Cup starts in Gameweek 22, entries stay open until January 16, and the hosts make it clear that hits taken before that first cup week do not affect the opener. That changes the math. It also gives them room to joke about going completely nuclear with a minus 55 just to set up the team. Goalkeepers keep taking bullets. One of the running threads is the irritation of spending transfer after transfer on the position, followed by the blunt admission that some version of human evolution has to happen. Bruno Fernandes is back on the board. The conversation circles him, rules out Bruno Guimaraes as the wrong Bruno, and keeps landing on the idea that Fernandes coming back soon changes how the midfield should look. Chelsea pulls them in. After the fixture pileup, Palmer and Enzo become the obvious names to think about, with Palmer getting the loudest approval because he still looks excellent. AFCON complicates everything. They point out that the final lands in the same weekend as Gameweek 22, which means the affected players are expected back by Gameweek 23 and not before. By then, the attack could be working again with Bumo, Bruno, Amad, and whoever else survives the churn, while Dango and Saar stay in the mix as more pieces of the moving puzzle. The wildcard question hangs there. They do not rush it, and the discussion stays on the same blunt fantasy logic: timing, fixtures, returns, and how much pain you can tolerate before the deadline.
