Filthy Casuals with Tommy Dassalo and Ben Vernel

Episode 470: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Nobody Wants to Die

·1 hr 25 min·5 clips
Tommy logs into the podcast call in a full Luigi costume, only to find Ben in a t-shirt, suspecting a prank.
The show starts with a handoff. An A-Cast promo for Heaven Bent turns into the usual Filthy Casuals greeting, still a little scrambled from the cold open. Then the episode settles back into its normal shape. The crew calls the week after the Halloween spectacular business as usual, which mostly means jokes, housekeeping, and a slow drift toward the news. Nobody gets too polished about it. The rhythm is interruptions, half-rhymes, quick fixes, and side chatter that somehow counts as part of the engine. Monster Hunter comes through first, with its PC, Xbox, and PS5 rollout mentioned alongside the PS Plus timing on PS5. Then the Dracula bit gets loose. A warning about Monster Hunter turns into Van Helsing confusion, a vampire aside, and a joke about changing history before it finally burns out. Call of Duty is the main event. Black Ops 6 arrives as the annual heavyweight, and Adam gets pushed into his expected Call of Duty rap. It is rough, which is exactly why it works. The joke lets the review breathe without treating a huge franchise launch like sacred ground. Under the nonsense, there is still a real read on the game. Adam stays guarded and points to serious launch technical issues. Treyarch gets some context too, as the long-running Black Ops team, with the conversation reaching back to the first Black Ops around 2010. The episode wraps with Patreon extras, the mailbag, a special episode, and one last office-return gag.
