164: Trying To Catch Up!

Let's be honest - some Marvel shows are just forgettable, and that's the real problem with the MCU right now.

A chewing warning opens the episode. One host apologizes for the snack noise, and then the talk settles into a long, familiar stretch of cleaning, dusting, moving furniture, and wondering what to do with a jar of dirt. That turns into something even stranger. The jar becomes a joke about mixing ashes with dirt from an Evil Dead location, and the hosts start untangling which Evil Dead movie was actually filmed where. The mood shifts again from there. A kid's appetite for superhero clips over full movies sends the conversation into Superman mode, where action matters more than soap opera and the hosts start comparing versions instead of just naming titles. The new suit catches plenty of heat. The costume gets called diaper-man, then trunks, because the shape is distracting enough to become the joke. Nobody bothers to smooth it out. The back-and-forth stays casual, a little blunt, and very comfortable changing course when a different memory or joke shows up. The episode also makes room for small fan treasures. A Star-Lord-style cassette player, actual props from people in the business, and the story of an Evil Dead-connected buddy all get a turn. That is part of the charm here. Collectibles, old movies, and family reactions can all sit in the same conversation without feeling forced. By the end, the show still feels like a hangout. It has drifted through chores, superheroes, horror, and a little gear obsession before circling back to the same easy, familiar rapport.
