It comes across as a small mountain town with a compact main center, a couple of really good restaurants, an awesome cafe and coffee shop, and a little grocery store focused on local and organic goods. The area is also getting support through grant money, partnerships with Cornell University and Columbia University, and work from local architecture and engineering firms. Friends and acquaintances are already buying buildings downtown and turning them into new projects. Ski access sharpens the whole thesis. One of the family run or independently run mountains is less than a mile from Stone Tavern Farm, and you can see it from the property. That proximity, plus more people traveling farther out from the city, makes the case feel pretty durable. The closing note is plain. Now there is even more demand and not enough supply, and this looks like the kind of legacy asset they want to keep moving on.
