This episode is a solo announcement from host Will Young addressing the Elwood City Limits community. He begins by reminding current Patreon supporters about an upcoming Discord Q&A session on December 20, 2024. Will then details the significant shift in the podcast's Patreon strategy starting in 2025. New content uploads to Patreon will cease, including monthly podcasts and early episode releases. The Discord server will remain active but will no longer be a Patreon-exclusive perk. Importantly, the entire Patreon back catalog—including series like For the Kids and ECL Origins—will become freely accessible to all listeners. Will explains that while paid memberships are ending, the Patreon page will transition to a free subscription model. He provides specific donation options via Ko-fi (ko-fi.com/willyoung) and PayPal (paypal.me/elwoodcitylimits) for listeners who wish to contribute to ongoing podcast hosting costs. Will repeatedly emphasizes that donations are entirely optional and not required to access content. He notes that any funds received will go toward maintaining the podcast's presence on platforms. The announcement clarifies that current patrons will not be charged after December 2024. Will mentions that technical setup may delay the free access launch slightly past January 1. He concludes by thanking all supporters over the years and confirming that Elwood City Limits will return in January 2025 for its final episodes, focusing on Arthur Season 25 and bidding farewell to the podcast.
