Eidolon VGM #10: Everything In Its Place

The episode opens with a surreal advertisement for Uncle Irvine's Guaranteed Hair Growth Crotch Tonic, setting the absurd tone. A philosophical monologue follows, redefining virtual reality as any mediated reality and framing Undertow as a system of control. The actual play begins with the crew discussing downtime and interpersonal conflicts before boarding Horace Babylon's massive land yacht, the Escape from the City. They meet Horace's AI assistant, Cordelia, and are joined by Detective Sandworm Arpeggio. On board, a waiter poisons Ellie Booktalk, causing her to vomit. Marcy Campbell investigates and confronts a chef who reveals a hidden firearm, confirming an assassin is aboard. The team debates whether to intervene or let the assassin kill Horace, as they all want him dead. Marcy uses an Undertow exploit to discover Horace's motivation: he invited them specifically to act as human shields and witnesses. Meanwhile, Horace steps into an airlock to masturbate on the moon's surface, creating a vulnerable moment. The assassin, known as Kid A, is given Marcy's confiscated gun with the implicit go-ahead to kill Horace. Hercule Heavensward, equipped with temporary cybernetics, joins Horace outside. The episode blends corporate intrigue, dark comedy, and RPG mechanics as the players navigate their roles as villains on a doomed pleasure cruise.

As heard by us

A crotch tonic ad, a wet hallway, and a stolen power keep the session careening sideways.

The episode leans into a hard, filthy comic pitch, pairing an over-the-top crotch tonic ad with shipboard roleplay and then pushing the farce further with a chef cast as an unauthorized passenger and a wet trail that ends in a neatly timed stairway slip.
