Full Inclusion for Special Education Students

·51 min·5 clips
Full inclusion comes across here as a placement question, not a slogan. The episode stays close to general education classrooms, where students with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs may be present without enough support around them. Training is the pressure point. Behavior management comes up as a long-running reason teachers leave early, but the blame does not land on teachers. It lands on preparation. Student needs have grown, and schools are being asked to absorb behavior, mental health concerns, and thin social services without enough staff. Placement has to come with support. The close returns to individual needs, academic and social growth, professional learning, and honest family conversations.
