Dear MOR

“Unit 501” (The Ayah Story) | Stories of Fear Episode 1

·35 min·3 clips
Kuya James reveals the pregnant woman who took her own life haunts Unit 501, targeting new female tenants.
The episode is a first-person narrative by Aya, who shares her paranormal experience in a Dear MOR story format. She and her friend Pati move into Unit 501, a surprisingly large and affordable condo in an old Manila building, rented from Kuya James. Initial oddities include the landlord insisting they keep lights on and leaving a dim light, and their Shih Tzu, Kiefer, barking at walls. Neighbors like Kuya Buboy and staff react with unease when they learn the unit number, repeatedly suggesting a blessing. Strange events escalate: a water bottle falls mysteriously, they hear footsteps and scratching, and lights turn on by themselves. Aya sees Pati in the condo while Pati claims to be outside, creating a doppelgänger scare. They bring friend Kenneth over, who gets spooked and helps them leave temporarily. After returning, they discover multiple small handprints on walls and the ceiling, which frightens them deeply. During a storm-induced blackout, the haunting intensifies with lights flickering, Kiefer barking at the ceiling handprints, and candles blowing out. They flee to the guard, Kuya Buboy, who says he's used to new tenants from that unit seeking help. They decide to move out and contact Kuya James, who refunds them and explains the backstory: the first tenants were a couple; the pregnant wife miscarried, the husband cheated, and she took her own life in the unit. Her ghost now haunts it, especially targeting new female tenants, possibly seeing them as her husband's new family. Aya and Pati move their belongings out, and in a final eerie moment, the dim light Kuya James left behind turns on by itself. They eventually find a new, peaceful place in Makati.
