Hand & Wheel | Critical Role | Campaign 4, Episode 19 Part 2

March 31, 2026·2 hr 9 min·10 clips
A warrior opens up about finding family in the most unexpected place during wartime.
Paperwork is suddenly useful, which feels about right for this table. A visit tied to Cormoray turns a simple request for aid into a careful little exchange of favor, labor, education, and institutional charm. The pitch begins politely. If Blair Lothalia needs help with paperwork, the pen temporal can answer by offering students for museum work. Everyone gets a piece of it. Lady Amaria can hear that children bound for wizardry school may be placed near the museum wing she cares about most. That is the hook. The plan flatters house Cormoray, helps Lothalia, and makes a dull administrative need sound like real experience for eager students. Then the table wanders, happily. A family of jewel merchants becomes a quick joke, the exact title gets mangled, and the Bursar of Aid and Antiquities gets restored to full ceremonial dignity. Somehow, the idea still works. Master Lothalia has, apparently, gone too long without a willing workforce, and the bursar knows how to make that sound almost noble. The vibe is there. One character says they feel a connection forming, then immediately backs into gratitude that the idea landed. Sweetly awkward, in the best way. A few star students are already in mind, so the scheme gets the warmer glow of mentorship instead of pure maneuvering. Then the room changes temperature. Someone is told the troupe has the matter handled and can enjoy a job well done. Nice thought. It does not hold. A question cuts through the relief: why are you here, and why does the whole city feel like it is pulling inward? The anxiety has spread. The council, the license to the Hallowed Round, and the agreements around their work all feel shakier than they should. The walls feel closer. Friends across the city, described as little birds, are sending the same warning from different corners. Then comes the ask. Someone wants a clearer read on what is happening inside the guards' heads, and it lands with reluctance, not swagger.
