Hanon in hawk form and Amida's weather magic turn the sky around the carriage into a moving battle.
1. Critical Role Campaign 4, Episode 15 Part 1 moves from Azune's childhood memory to a sky-carriage escape from Risenkirtle. 2. Brennan Lee Mulligan narrates the frame story, while the players portray Azune, Mayali, Octus, Tysha Loy, Vaelis, Aranessa, and Hanon in the flight sequence. 3. The episode's central question is how the party leaves Risenkirtle safely after the Seasons Stone druids provide eagle passage and magical gear. 4. Brennan opens with a burnt town square where the Gallows Choir, a mercenary company, is recruiting children. 5. Azune, age 12, runs chainmail drills for pennants while his sister Mayali and his starving parents watch. 6. The captain dismisses most of the children as exhausted failures, but Azune and Mayali are singled out for service. 7. Azune's parents tell him that war is the only ladder available and that they gave him clothes and food to earn a chance. 8. Azune says he remembers the day repeatedly because it is the last time he saw his mother and father. 9. Brennan shifts to the present party near Risenkirtle after the recap of Dolmachiar, House Royce, House Devinos, and the slaughter at the Palazzo Devinos. 10. The druids of Seasons Stone have already pushed past a tense exchange with Tysha Loy and Hanon, allowing the party to continue east. 11. Amada meets the party at the eagle eyrie and provides a knapsack of scrolls, charms, and other enchanted items. 12. She identifies one charm as a walker's ward, a disguise against many kinds of magical detection. 13. She also gives a treasure chest made of blood-red wood that smokes through its cracks and should not be touched. 14. Altra Adler, a huge snowy white eagle with a damaged eye, is chosen to carry the sky carriage because the smaller eagles require more riding skill. 15. Octus uses Speak with Animals to negotiate with Altra Adler, offering a cow and asking for a slow flight because he does not want to land in the dark. 16. The party boards the sky carriage, clips into the harnesses, and lifts off as the wind pushes down on the wagon's canvas and frame. 17. A storm forms around them when Amada and Hanon use opposing magic, and Octus notices that something is wrong in the air. 18. Ray of Frost, Call Lightning, and Control Weather turn the flight into a moving skirmish around Altra Adler while the party tries to keep its balance. 19. The tone is roleplay-heavy and cinematic, with long stretches of exposition, travel logistics, and improvised character banter over the flight. 20. Listeners who like faction recaps, D&D travel scenes, and druid magic will get the most out of this episode, while people wanting a fast combat-only session may skip it.

As heard by us

A tense, low-lit Critical Role chapter where a humble druidic charm says as much as any speech.

Flight to Castle Torch opens in a half-burned town square, with too many people for too few dwellings and a battered armed figure pacing through the wreckage.
