Episode 28: Making Art Business Goals

·31 min·3 clips
Lori Rivera admits her goal to double art sales next year is 'probably not very realistic,' but she's 'dreaming big.'
It opens with housekeeping. Lori Rivera and Jamie Haney reintroduce the show, call out episode 28, and laugh about recording before Christmas for a December 26 release. The holiday greeting arrives after the fact. They catch themselves wondering whether they already said Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, which suits the table-talk rhythm. No one tries to buff it smooth. A possible phone interruption gets checked, waved off, and absorbed back into the chat. Then Jamie brings up goals. She asks whether Lori wants to talk about goals for 2024, but Lori first loops back to an earlier goal meeting with Vicki. The notes are missing. Lori knows they live in a notebook somewhere, then admits that somewhere means among roughly twenty notebooks. That is where the practical lesson starts to bite. Jamie steers her toward the phone notes app because it can be searched, even though both of them already have plenty stashed there. The note counts are the funny part: Jamie has 261, Lori has 500 and something, and the advice instantly gets less tidy. Browser tabs hijack the room next. Lori asks how to close tabs faster on her phone, and the tiny tech snag reveals 470 open tabs. Jamie has just one. She walks through the iPhone path with the browser square, edit, and close all tabs while Lori tries to follow along. The close stays useful and casual. Jamie sends listeners to the show notes for Lori's books, gives the Creative Type email, and wraps with the tote bag and apron for supporters.
